Dr Emily Kirkpatrick - GP
About Dr Emily
Dr Emily is a fellow of the RACGP General Practice specialty training, which she completed while managing the demands of her busy young children. She has worked at various medical clinics across South Australia, and is now a Medical Educator at GPEx (SA), as well as a lecturer at the University of Adelaide in the Discipline of General Practice.
Skin cancer medicine is her passion. She is currently completing a MMed (Skin Cancer) at the University of Queensland, in her third and final year. She has also obtained a Cert in Skin Cancer Medicine from UQ and Cert in Skin Cancer Surgery from Bond University.
Dr Emily has also obtained a FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health and is proud to contribute to the comprehensive women's health services at Adelaide City General Practice. She is knowledgeable on sexual health and contraceptive issues, including Implanon NXT insertion. In addition, she is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society.
Prior to working in general practice, Dr Emily completed a Master of Public Health and plans to continue working in academia pursuing a PhD. She sits on the RACGP SA&NT Council and the RACGP SA&NT Education and Training Committee. She is also the current Aus/NZ Chair of The Rajakumar Movement, WONCA Young Doctors.
